Dance Grants Do they exists?
The purpose of this letter to you is to seek sponsorship for Alexis or a way so she can pursue this amazing opportunity with DADA. I am writing you this letter to tell you about my amazing daughter, Alexis. I am a single mother raising my daughter in the South Bay. I could not be more proud of Lexie and her accomplishments. In this respect, life is good.
Last year she was selected to entertain on Carnival Cruise lines, Disneyland Parade and Las Vegas. At age 9 Lexie is the President of a dance bag company she developed called “Bags To Riches”. By selling dance bags at local fairs, farmers markets and carnivals all of the proceeds from the sales go directly into her dance expense account.
Ill stop babbling and get to the point. On May 3rd, 2008, she auditioned at The DADA and LOVED IT. She was selected into the program. The program tuition is 2,200. This does not include daily transportation and expenses for her ect. Please contact me to discuss any financial participation.

What do i need to do in order to do a split?
stretch a lot, and do lunges. And than try litlle by little to do the splits, but one it starts to hurt than stop. Stretch your legs alot, to make them more flexible. Be careful when trying to do the splits, because I know alot of girls that have put out their hips and broken their legs from not stretching and practicing.
What do i need to do in order to do a split?
Stretch everyday. Try to open your legs as wide as you can at first and stay there for at least 10 minutes. You can do this when you%26#039;re watching TV or reading a book. Its quite convenient, actually. Make sure you feel some pull, or else you won%26#039;t get the best stretch. But if its a sharp pain, loosen up a little.
What do i need to do in order to do a split?
Go to a professional ballet instructor or a gymnast, and spare yourself from injuries. You want A-1 results? Go to the experts. I won%26#039;t even dare give you one or two tips. There%26#039;s no other option.
Reply:the younger you start the better.
do your stretches and be consistent with them. the splits
requires a gradual lengthening of tendons that is not normal
so do your exercises regularly but be careful not to overdo.
an injury can sideline your workouts and put you even farther
behind.
Reply:To do the splits takes determination and some pain. First you want to stretch then drop down as loww as you can, then drop a little further and keep doing that little by little untill you get that! just remember this doesn%26#039;t take a day it takes time to be able to do the splits!
Happy Times!

Im 11 and I want to start dance but Im afraid that its to late %26amp; theyll make fun of me. should I do it?
Start dancing! Anyone who spends their time worrying about how you dance has bigger problems than dancing. Enjoy!!

In fact, serious dance training doesn%26#039;t start until you are 12, because your body is still growing and developing. Most of the work under-12 dancers do involves stretching, rhythmics etc. So you are definitelyi not too late to begin. No one makes fun of someone in a dance class for a couple of reasons: a) they were all beginners once and b) if they have time to watch what you%26#039;re doing, they aren%26#039;t paying attention to what they are doing. So go ahead, sign up and enjoy!
Reply:HELL YEAH, you can dance! just have lots of fun!!!!!
Reply:Dear Tiffany, I have friends in their forties and fifties, and still dancing. At your young age, definitely, you can dance, even competitively, and many more avenues. Don%26#039;t limit yourself. You can even get into golf, or horseback-riding for the Olympics. Who knows?
Reply:Dance. You are not to young. As long as you are doing something you like and it is not illegal or immoral, forget about what others think. True winners are the ones who do it for fun anyway.
Reply:there is no late time to start dancing except if you are dead. many of my friends just started dancing this year in ballet and they are 14! start dance it is so much fun and is awesome!! also you should do cheerleading. I love them both. do competition cheer because that uses more tumbling. when you get into high school they let you tumble but not at middle school. so Cheer and Dance!!
Reply:Ya, take dance. It%26#039;s easy, fun and you can make new friends. Try it and if you don%26#039;t like then quit.
Reply:Its naver too late to start dance! Just show up for EVERY practice and you will be fine. Don%26#039;t be intimidated by the girls that have been doing this forever because that could be you some day!
Happy Dancing,

Reply:you are 11 and have the whole world ahead of you!! you still have prenty of time to start dancing! technically you are not that old to start. many professional dancers have started around your age so i would go for it! and if they make fun of you, which they shouldn%26#039;t, then they are being really silly! just enjoy it! happy dancing!
Reply:Start dancing! I waited until I was thirteen and it was a bad move for me. I felt REALLY left out. Most girls started around nine/ten so you%26#039;re not too much older than they are. Dance now or you%26#039;ll regret it later!
Another idea is diving. (Springboard, not scuba.) I started this year (also a gymnast, but have back and ankle injuries which interfere with gymnastics) and it%26#039;s really great. It involves all the flips and twists of gymnastics and none of the hard landings. It%26#039;s a lot less rigorous than gymnastics, and it%26#039;s such a thrill when you learn a new dive. =] Seriously - look into it!
Other ideas: Yoga, pilates, rhythmic gymnastics, swimming, track, cross country

Dance Classes at age 14?
i%26#039;m 13 and i%26#039;m just starting know i couldn%26#039;t do the spits either and no your never to old to start you may have to work harder at the begning but its worth it. i would start ballet jazz will be easier if you start with ballet frist.
Dance Classes at age 14?
no your not too old... but i would try to jazz :)
i have been taking it for 7 years im 15 btw
but its alot of fun :)
good luck
Reply:No you are at the right age because you have your bones and ligaments strong and flexibles.
By being teenager is kind of hard because usually by the fact of age your movements tend to be ungraceful and uncoordinated if you don%26#039;t have experience in the matter of performances but with contemporary dance or jazz you will be in total shape in 6 to 8 months so go for it.

I'm 15. i was wondering if its too late for me to start ballet lessons?
It%26#039;s never too late to start lessons. If you are asking if it%26#039;s too late to be a world renowned ballet dancer, the answer is probably yes.
I%26#039;m 15. i was wondering if its too late for me to start ballet lessons?

It%26#039;s never too late, it may take you longer to advance, but if you%26#039;re really devoted then you can advance very quickly
its all about devotion

Reply:No you are a good time to do it but you need to work more if you want to advance fast.
Reply:No way, most studios have teen/adult classes from beginner to advance. Just look at Sabra who won So You Think You Can Dance, she only danced for about 4-5 years and she won a contest! Ballet is a good excercise that teaches disicpline and posture. go for it
Reply:It%26#039;s not too late to start ballet lessons, but it is considered too late for you to think about becoming a professional ballerina, if that is your intention in taking the lessons.
Reply:definitely not.
Sabra (the winner of SYTYCD Season 3) only danced for four years before she won the SYTYCD title. Granted, she%26#039;s done gymnastics before but its the same concept. It might take a tad longer than she took, but anyone can start learning at any time... its just a matter of how hard you%26#039;re willing to push yourself.
And plus, a few of my friends in college decided to audition for my college%26#039;s dance company with no dance background and picked it up rather quickly with a bit of hard work.
Reply:A man I know is at least 63 years old and he recently enrolled in a tap dancing class. I have been to a couple of his classes and I must say, he is one TERRIBLE tap dancer but he grins from ear to ear as long as he has those shoes on.
If you are starting in hopes of becoming a world renowned dancer, I think you may be a about 10 years too late. But if you want to have fun, get some exercise, lose some weight etc. then by all means; GO FOR IT!!!

hell no. im 18, i joined the dance club, this very same year, in my high school and learned to dance. if its what you want to do, then do it
Im 15. is it too late for me to start ballet lessons?
No! You should definitely go for it=) I%26#039;m 13 and I%26#039;m starting ballet classes in September and I%26#039;m hoping to get pointe shoes in about 1-3 years. Just remember to strengthen your ankles, stretch every day, and have good posture. I know a woman who is 26 and she never had dance lessons in her life and she got en pointe in 4 years. Everything is possible! Now if you want to go pro, there is a slight chance that will happen, but you can always try! Good luck=)
Im 15. is it too late for me to start ballet lessons?
=] better later than never. If you want to do it then go for it. Just know that ballet is one of the most complicated type of dances, so even though it might fustrate you, you have to give it your all and never give up. If you love it than you definitely should go for it. It%26#039;s truly beautiful.

Im 15. is it too late for me to start ballet lessons?
=] better later than never. If you want to do it then go for it. Just know that ballet is one of the most complicated type of dances, so even though it might fustrate you, you have to give it your all and never give up. If you love it than you definitely should go for it. It%26#039;s truly beautiful.
Reply:It%26#039;s never too late to start dancing. As long as you make all of your practices and stuff you should be fine. Just try your hardest and everything will work out. Most people star dance at a really young age so don%26#039;t be intimidated by those girls! I%26#039;m sure you%26#039;ll be great!

Wich website tells you the dates on wich auditions are held for so you think you can dance?
i tried looking in fox.com but they don%26#039;t say the dates on which the auditons are , and i%26#039;m not going to try out this year but it would be helpful to know when auditions are like in the winter or in the summer time
Wich website tells you the dates on wich auditions are held for so you think you can dance?
i don%26#039;t know where they post them, but all the auditions looked like they were done when it was really cold outside...
i%26#039;m pretty sure they%26#039;re held in late winter/early spring. (around february or march) -- its a summer season show and all the auditions (including vegas) have to be done, edited, and ready by the late may premiere. they have so many auditions and dancers auditioning that they tape, so i bet editing is a LOT of work and VERY time consuming.

Good dance school in southeastern connecticut?
I am a high school student living in southeastern connecticut. i previously dance at imperial academy of dance in east lyme, connecticut (ballet and tap). I am look for a little more challenging dance school to join. I want to continue ballet and tap and maybe begin hip hop, jazz, or some sort of modern dance class as well. I have not lived in the area very long and am not familiar with any good dance schools to try. Any suggestions are appreciated! Thanks!

Try %26quot;Jazz%26quot; its easy and isn%26#039;t very hard. Good Luck
For someone who%26#039;s not good at dancing, whats an easy dance?
Jazz is an easy type of dance. Ballet is also easy as long as you%26#039;re very graceful. Just remember to point your toes on everything to make it look better.

I wanna learn italian for the ladies?
any ideas? any sites or CD%26#039;s i can download for free :)
all i know is %26quot;frocio%26quot; but im sure that wont come in helpful... oh and volare
I wanna learn italian for the ladies?
You want to learn italian for free? Tell the ladies that, I%26#039;m sure they%26#039;ll love it.
Pay up if you wanna learn a language, get a tutor. If you woo ladies with one or two lines of italians then they%26#039;re not worth pulling.
If you really wanna impress ladies for free... Fake an accent. I suggest pretending to be Australian, South African or New Zealander.

look on ebay for books to buy and that

If I can%26#039;t do a split, will i ever be able 2 do one. Like, is it sumething you%26#039;re born to be able to do or can i do a lot of stretching and succeed?
Splits??????
i can%26#039;t do the splits and i have been dancing forever! hahhaha though i did find a post that could be a lot of help!

Splits??????
if you stretch everyday eventually you should be able to do it. i was hardly flexible but i stretched everyday and after about 3 months i got my splits
Reply:Well I startd dancing and taking gymnastics when i was 3 and up until i was 9 i was nvr a ble to do a spilt. All u hav to do is stretch. do hamstring stretches like lunges and grounf stretches like the one in second. Also, do not over work your self. I ovr workd my hamstring and i pulled the muscle.
Reply:Heyy
I had been dancing for years and just got my split last year. You really have to strech everyday. What really helped was to pick your favorite song and hold your right split while it plas trough. Then do your left leg to the same leg. You could also do your straddle. For my straddle I like to have someone push me forward white i am facing the wall so it is really pushing me to strech. But u definatley are not born ablle to do a split just a little work. Hope it helps %26lt;3

am not talking about becoming a professional dancer, but ive always REGRETTED not ever taking part in ballet, tap, hip hop.. or any sort of dance classes! so do you think it would be TOO late for me to start now.

You can find a local dance studio by yellowpages.com or the phone book, and once you find a dance studio, call them up or email them or contact them and ask if they have an %26#039;Adult Beginner Class%26#039; or something of the sort. My studio does, and your%26#039;s probably will too. If you don%26#039;t find one at the first studio, don%26#039;t give up! Keep looking.
Depending on what classes you take, you might need jazz shoes (I like Capezio) or ballet shoes (I like Bloch) and you%26#039;ll probably want to invest in pink tight, a leotard and jazz pants or booty shorts, whatever you%26#039;re more comfortable with.
You%26#039;ll probably want to start stretching to limber yourself up, although the adult class will take it very easy at first with some simple stretched to help you.
Don%26#039;t ever give up!
Reply:It%26#039;s never too late, unless, you have a wheelchair and bad arthritis. or you%26#039;re dead. But you can definitely start now.

I love dancing, but what can I do about my ballet teacher?
I%26#039;m a senior and have been dancing since I was 3 and I love dancing, I really REALLY do! I dance ballet, tap, and jazz (I used to do pointe, but couldn%26#039;t this year for financial reasons). But the truth is I could never see myself starting a career in dancing no matter how much I love dancing, it%26#039;s just something I do for fun. Up until this year I%26#039;ve always been excited to go to dance classes and this year I dread it!
It just feels like my ballet teacher tries to make me feel terrible about myself. Basically, I know that I am no prima ballerina in fact I will admit that I%26#039;m far from that, but I love to dance and I know that I%26#039;m not so terrible that I should be shoved in a box and never be allowed to dace again but this teacher makes me feel like that! If I do one tiny thing wrong (ie my hips aren%26#039;t turned on the exact angle she wants) she stops the music and instead of kindly telling me what to correct she yells and me in front of the whole class and tells me that
I love dancing, but what can I do about my ballet teacher?
you should try to tell her how you feel.
I love dancing, but what can I do about my ballet teacher?
teachers tend to put you on the spot when they think your worth it...think about it. if she didnt care about your mistakes would she correct you? most teachers use this method because it pushes some people to work harder and yet it depresses others...just remember you dance because you love it and not to please her so next time she corrects you don%26#039;t let it get you down..just try your best
Reply:First of all, you need to set up a private conference with your teacher. Calmly explain to her your feelings and motivations for taking class. Be sure she understands your perspective before you say anything about her. Once she is clear with your intentions, proceed to tell her how her actions make you feel. Becareful how you word things; you want to make sure you aren%26#039;t blaming her, although you may feel she is to blame.
If there is no resolution in a polite, respectful manner, then you should find a different studio to dance with. You said you dance because you love it. Well, don%26#039;t let a bad relationship with a teacher ruin that passion forever. After all, your well being is more important than status at a dance school.
Reply:I have left a ballet teacher for very similar reasons - and I advise you to get out now, while you still love dancing! If she%26#039;s the only teacher in town, you can still dance - be your own teacher! I%26#039;ve done it. So can you. Let her see what she missed out on having. Keep dancing!

What do you enjoy better classical ballet or lyrical?
I%26#039;ve taken classical ballet since I was three. I%26#039;m going to be a senior next year and I%26#039;m considering taking lyrical instead. The main reason is because me and the classical ballet teacher at my studio have butted-heads more then enough times and she%26#039;s left me in tears on various occasions. Basically, I want to continue some form of ballet without switching studios but I don%26#039;t think I could put myself through another year with her as a teacher. She makes me miserable.
So I want to know, what do you like better, classical ballet or lyrical? I%26#039;ve sort of done lyrical ballet before in 7th grade (my ballet teacher at the time was very into more lyrical type of dances). If you could please give me a few pros and cons for each it would be wonderful! I don%26#039;t want to make a decision and regret it later, I would just like to keep my self esteem (which I don%26#039;t think I can do if I continue class with this ballet teacher).
Thanks a bunch!
What do you enjoy better classical ballet or lyrical?
I like lyrical more. It give you more freedom to express emotions while dancing.
I can relate to your story about your teacher. I would talk to her in private and tell her about how you are feeling. If she doesn%26#039;t seem to understand or want to change the way she teaches, so it is more fun and less stressful, then I would change to another class, another teacher. Hope it works out well for you!!
What do you enjoy better classical ballet or lyrical?
Lyrical is better. I%26#039;ve never done serious ballet like you, but Lyrical is just more fun.
Reply:for me i love ballet so i would have to chose that but i have never done lyrical dance. i really think you need to talk to you teacher in private about how she is making you feel and make her aware that even though you do appreciate constructive critisim that she doesn%26#039;t need to talk to you like that. good luck and hope you chose the right type of dance for you! =)

Well you should follow your heart and stay with it then you will not regret, like me setting my heart on something and i know i will not regret it :)

take lyrical for a change as it could be fun
or
take ballet something you know you are good at and enjoy it :)
Reply:well i would choose classical ballet. especially if u have done it so long. classical ballet is such a beautiful art and u can express yourself through the move or you can express your character. it is very hard too and it gives me more pleasure to finally get a step after trying for so long. i would say switch schools. i totally get it though. its your senior yera. u want it to be the best. maybe your teacher is really just trying to help you. you can try to talk with heer. if that doesnt work than i would swithch schools. i wouldnt quit it because if youve done it this long then u obviously love it and maybe at first (if u quit) youd think %26#039;yeah this is soooo much better%26#039; but then eventually u will miss it greatly and after stopping for a year it is realy hard to get back into the swing of things. if ur teacher is mean then really.... i think u should switch teachers. i totally know how it feels. my teacher would be so harsh on me and i would cry in class. but then she kind of saw and she said stuff like i really have faith that u could be amazing and i really want you to do welland i care about u alot. in my mind i was back talking her but then i thought about and now i realize that gettting alot of corrections suck but it means ur teacher actually cares enough to correct u. MAYBE its like that in ur case. MAYBE. i hope i helped ::)
oh im sorry. i just realize that u dont want to switch studios. im not gonna change my answer but if its nt how i think then go to lyrical.

Does anyone know any good techno songs?
If so, please tell me the song title and who it%26#039;s by.
Thanks.:)
Does anyone know any good techno songs?
Basically anything from Daft Punk.
Map of the Problematic - Muse
Chaos - Mute Math
The ones other than Daft might not be techno you%26#039;re looking for.
Does anyone know any good techno songs?
Bidibodi Bidibu by the Bubbles.
Dam Dadi Doo by Nightcore.
Sandstorm by Darude.
One More Night by CASCADA.
All are good songs, but I think the best is Dam Dadi Doo, I%26#039;m listening to it right now. They do not have it on iTunes, though. You need to get it on something else, I recommend iMesh.
Reply:That genre is called happy hardcore - not techno (will help in searching for songs).
Some I can think off from the top my my head -
Pretty Rave Girl - I Am X-Ray
Look up artist Special D
Thanks.:)

How can I get the legs of a dancer?
Ballroom, jazz, and contemporary dancers have the best legs: they%26#039;re toned and sculpted without being too muscular. This is what I%26#039;m trying to achieve.
What type of exercise routines do these kinds of dancers follow?
I can%26#039;t dance, but it%26#039;d be great if I could mimick some of their key workout moves, so I can shape my legs nicely.
How can I get the legs of a dancer?
I would reccomend that you take some dance classes .You could also take up running or pilates, yoga, etc.
GoOd LuCk :]
How can I get the legs of a dancer?
Do backward kicks. Stand next to a chair with your left hand resting on it. With your right arm over your head, lift your right leg straight forward as high as you can while keeping your back straight. Circle your leg around until it is behind you without lowering it. Return your foot to the ground, and repeat several times on each side.
Try scissor legs. Lie on the floor on your right side, with your right arm under your head and your left hand firmly on the floor near your chest. List your left leg until it is abut two feet off the floor. The lift your right leg until it is one foot off the floor. Lower your right foot to the floor, and then your left. Repeat on each side several times.
Practice plies. Stand next to a chair with one hand on it for support. Put your heels together, with your toes pointed out. Keeping your back straight, bend the knees and lift the heels being sure to tighten the butt and keep the back straight. Repeat several times.
Move onto a side bend. Begin in the same position as a plie. Bend the knees and lower into a plie, keeping the heels grounded this time. Reach one hand over your head and bend to one side, straightening your back when rising from the plie. Repeat on each side.
Enjoy! :)
Reply:bike riding is great for your legs. not the bike at the gym a real one
Reply:I%26#039;m a dancer, and a lot of the things that we do to tone our legs is we do A LOT of plies, kicks with a pointed toe, leg lifts, leaps, and anything that involves staying on your toes. Pointe, is usually what tones my legs the most, and my legs are almost pure muscle, however, for an unexpierienced dance, simple exercises should do the trick.

How to dance in the club?
i%26#039;m goin to a school dance tommrow nightt and i know how to dance but just not at a school dance how should i dance? like in a way that people won%26#039;t think i dont know how to dance? because the guy is alwayz behind a girl so what is the girl suppose to do? i know dance but like how?
How to dance in the club?
theres either the romantic slow dancing wiht the guy.
or grinding on him..
thats when he stands behind you
%26amp;%26amp; you just basically move your as* on him.
%26amp; there getting low.
where you move your a*s to the floor
How to dance in the club?
well it depends on how old you are if your in middle school just dance with your friends and jump around and just move like you would in your mirror scream the words to the song and stuff. if your in high school start out doing wat you would do in middle school but usually ppl grind. when the guy grabs a girls waist and you just kinda put your butt in his crotch area and sway back and forth to the music its really fun act flirtly and sexy (getting lwer and higher, sticking your butt out a little more) even if your not, and if everyone is grinding just do wat there doing. just dont ever keep dancing like middle school style if a guy has his hands around you! guys also like it when girls move their butts in a sideways 8 shape. if no one grabs your waist just dance with your friends its even fun to grind with them (great practice) most of the time you just dance with random ppl its ok if you dont kno the boy and if he dances with other girls its just for fun unless its your boyfriend or something. also dont let the boys grope you either. i usually put my hands on top of his so my fingers ar in his that also keeps his from going anywhere you dont wanna. just letting them hang shows disinterest. dont be to bouncy or all over the place you dont want to were the boy out! have fun at your dance and make sure to drink water and dress like its 99 degrees dancing can get hot! keep your hair up and make up minimal. :)

So you think you can dance top 20?
so..what do you guys out there think of the top 20 on so you think you can dance?
So you think you can dance top 20?
i think they all probably have rainbow stickers on there toyota prius%26#039;s.
So you think you can dance top 20?
I like most of them - Courtney Galliano is my favorite. I hope she wins!
I was really disappointed about the whole Katie/Natalie thing. To be honest, I think the judges handled it really poorly. Katie is clearly the better dancer, but Natalie can grow *and* she has a better personality. I would%26#039;ve gone with Natalie.
Reply:I agree with hannah_1, I was dissapointed with the whole Katie/Natalie. I think Natalie should have gone in it.
Reply:i think natalie should have stayed bc katie wouldnt even come back so whats the point in giving heer a chance
Reply:i think there were some way better people that should have made it rather than those who did make the top 20 and they let really bad people through to vegas to begin with. hiphop people were way better this year
Reply:i don%26#039;t know her name, but that one girl w/ the choreographer for a mother, she was amazing in her solo, but i wish they would have shown more of her, because i%26#039;m confused with why she was cut... i thought she was amazing...
plus they handled those two friends at the end really badly
Reply:I don%26#039;t really know about this season....a lot of the people that I really liked did not make it to the top 20...I was really happy that Twitch, Kherington, William, Gev, and Courtney G made it. But I don%26#039;t think that Katee and Susie should have made the top 20...I would have rather had Clair and Natalie in their shoes...but that%26#039;s just me...maybe they will change my mind in the weeks to come....i guess we will see!!
Reply:The girl who%26#039;s mother was a choreographer was AMAZING.
I am a professional dancer and I was very upset by this. They told her they%26#039;re not choosing her because they don%26#039;t see personality outside of her dancing. Firstly, I think you can tell that she is sweet, and secondly, she is a beautiful dancer. That is just not fair.
I am happy that the blonde ballroom dancer got through, I just loved her.
I also really like the Italian, contemporary dancer. She is beautiful.
Oh, and I also think they should%26#039;ve chosen the other guy instead of Gaz. I can%26#039;t seem to remember his name but he was just amazing.

Sophmore guy going to prom (Not an experienced dancer)?
Im going to prom next week and ill feel like an idiot if i dont dance. Yet i dont know any moves or anything. I know how to grind its not that hard but i dont know anything to do while im by myself dancing around with other ppl. Any videos on how to dance or any advice?
Thanks
Sophmore guy going to prom (Not an experienced dancer)?
This is a tough one.
Having no experience in dancing at all,
all of my friends think i%26#039;m really good.
All I can tell you is to move with the music.
Just start moving your hips (or waist if you prefer)
around. Side-to-side or back-to-front! You can%26#039;t go wrong with that. It pretty much works with any song except the slow ones. Also if you wanna feel %26quot;cool%26quot; go to youtube and look up dances like Walk it Out, 2 Step, and Lean Wit it Rock Wit It. You can pretty much Walk it Out %26amp; Lean Wit It to any song.
Eventually, you will start to feel more comfortable and come up with your own movements before the night is over.
HAPPY DANCING!!!
Thanks

Which of these types of dancing would be the easiest to learn?
Out of these categories,
which do YOU think we be the easiest?
I need a little help...
CONTEMPORARY, BALLROOM, HIP-HOP, or JAZZ?????
Which of these types of dancing would be the easiest to learn?
Jazz
I have taken all 4 classes and to let you know have been dancing for 10 years now.
Contemporary requires a lot of technique which takes years to learn.
Ballroom is just freaking hard.
And hiphop requires a lot of hard hitting moves and if you don%26#039;t have absolute control over your body it just looks sloppy.
Jazz can be easily learned and if you have enough personality, you can overcome the fact, if you haven%26#039;t been dancing for years.
Hope this helped!
Which of these types of dancing would be the easiest to learn?
I agree with Katie. Jazz is defintley the easiest of those. Hip-hop has fast and hard movements, ballroom takes a while to learn, and contemporary is fast as well.
Reply:for me it would be hip-hop b/c that%26#039;s what i%26#039;m used to dancing
Reply:it really depends on what class you are learning them in but all in all hip hop and jazz are the easiest

Hey will I be able to dance contemporary if I start at 17?
I was thinking if I could dance contemp and I am currently 13, but my parents won鈥檛 let me.:( So if I begin at the age of 17 would that be ok? Will I be able to catch up? I am currently into athletics and I am a track runner, so I have a lot of stamina and I play percussion and piano so I think I can hit the beats and be able to get into the music. Thanks! Please help me answer this. PLEASE
Hey will I be able to dance contemporary if I start at 17?
It%26#039;s NEVER too late to start dancing. Even if you can%26#039;t take dance classes right now, there are tons of instructional videos and classes online (even on YouTube). Just watching them and learning some basic combinations will get you some practice. It might be a bit hard though, because you won%26#039;t have anyone first hand to correct you. Don%26#039;t worry about starting late though-a lot of amazing dancers didn%26#039;t start until they were a bit older too.
Hey will I be able to dance contemporary if I start at 17?
I suggest you try it because there never is any age that is too late to start dancing. Since you are into music and athletics, it is easy for you to dance. Good luck!
Reply:why wont your parents let you??? lol anyway you will be able to catch up but you will have to work hard and you should now start doing streches so you will be flexible
Reply:you will be able to, however it isnt the best time to start. I suggest reasoning with your parents? Say it%26#039;s something you really really want to do? I dont see why not go for your dreams.
Contemporary is absolutely beautiful and my favourite style. Honestly, I dont think you should postpone it for like 4 years.
I started at age 10 and with a background of dance it%26#039;s much easier to do it.
If it%26#039;s something you want to do why should your parents stop you from doing such.
If there is absolutely no way you can...then i guess waiting till 17 is all you can do..
good luck ;)
Reply:yes you will. BUT REMEMBER THIS: if ur starting contemporary at an older age, the less flexible ur body is. KEEP BODY VERY FLEXIBLE and stretch every day and stay n shape. it%26#039;ll help

1.Ok in the crank that song theres a move that you do when it says superman so you do that and if you dont know it you just jump forward onto one foot and while doing that move your hands out like your swimming.
2.then bring your other foot and put it by the foot you just supermaned with but dont put them together. and while you do that put your hands on your upper leg.
3.Swing one hand to its opposite hip and do the same with the other.
4.Now bring one arm straight out to the side and do the same with the other.
5.Swing one arm right in front of your face then clap it with the other.DO NOT MOVE HAND BEING CLAPPED!!!!!!
6.Put your clapped hands in front of you. while doing this jump in mor but dont let your feet touch each other.
7.Then swing to the opposite side you clapped your hands on. while doing this cross your legs .
8.turn around sharply
ok now before i go on can you please tell me if i am helping.
if you could just like try to learn the steps and slow them down with them all together, just a little slower i could probably do ittt thanks! :)

Feeling Suspicious about dance!?
Okay, I go to this dance studio. Im starting to feel suspicious that a bunch of people I know are meeting each other (Hard to Explain)...Let%26#039;s just say....My friend from school might know someone from my dance studio...(My dance studio is 45 minutes away!).
Im starting to think that my dance studio doesn%26#039;t like me:
Examples of why they don%26#039;t like me:
-They sometimes talk about me when im not at class.
-They never talk to me.
-They tell me to go away and leave them alone.
- They look at me in a weird way.
Why i think my friend is meeting with my dance studio:
- One time my friend from dance got a haircut and later my friend from school got the same haircut.
- Whenever i have an audition, only my dance studio knows and then later the next day, my school knows.
I have a scholarship at my dance which is for free. I have been having a scholar ever since 2005. Do you think they%26#039;ll stop this year? Do you think they like me?
Feeling Suspicious about dance!?
OK so I%26#039;m kinda confused like you dance teachers are mad at you of you class mates. If you think your teachers dont like you tell them and if you think the students dont like you then who cares you are there to dance right.

Homecoming theme/slogan?
I%26#039;m in my school%26#039;s student council and our homework assignment is to come up with an idea for a homecoming theme/slogan. Our school is the Buchholz (bew-holts) Bobcats and the school we are playing is the Lake Gibson Braves. The theme is NOT for the homecoming dance, but for homecoming in general. It can%26#039;t be too specific of a theme because each grade level gets its own hallway and competes by decorating the hallway according to their interpretation of the theme.
Can anyone help come up with any ideas?
So far all we could come up with were:
-Take the Braves to the Grave
-Outbrave the Braves
-The Brave vs. The Braves
-Shake the Lake
