Start dancing! Anyone who spends their time worrying about how you dance has bigger problems than dancing. Enjoy!!

In fact, serious dance training doesn%26#039;t start until you are 12, because your body is still growing and developing. Most of the work under-12 dancers do involves stretching, rhythmics etc. So you are definitelyi not too late to begin. No one makes fun of someone in a dance class for a couple of reasons: a) they were all beginners once and b) if they have time to watch what you%26#039;re doing, they aren%26#039;t paying attention to what they are doing. So go ahead, sign up and enjoy!
Reply:HELL YEAH, you can dance! just have lots of fun!!!!!
Reply:Dear Tiffany, I have friends in their forties and fifties, and still dancing. At your young age, definitely, you can dance, even competitively, and many more avenues. Don%26#039;t limit yourself. You can even get into golf, or horseback-riding for the Olympics. Who knows?
Reply:Dance. You are not to young. As long as you are doing something you like and it is not illegal or immoral, forget about what others think. True winners are the ones who do it for fun anyway.
Reply:there is no late time to start dancing except if you are dead. many of my friends just started dancing this year in ballet and they are 14! start dance it is so much fun and is awesome!! also you should do cheerleading. I love them both. do competition cheer because that uses more tumbling. when you get into high school they let you tumble but not at middle school. so Cheer and Dance!!
Reply:Ya, take dance. It%26#039;s easy, fun and you can make new friends. Try it and if you don%26#039;t like then quit.
Reply:Its naver too late to start dance! Just show up for EVERY practice and you will be fine. Don%26#039;t be intimidated by the girls that have been doing this forever because that could be you some day!

Happy Dancing,

Mizz. Jessica
Reply:you are 11 and have the whole world ahead of you!! you still have prenty of time to start dancing! technically you are not that old to start. many professional dancers have started around your age so i would go for it! and if they make fun of you, which they shouldn%26#039;t, then they are being really silly! just enjoy it! happy dancing!
Reply:Start dancing! I waited until I was thirteen and it was a bad move for me. I felt REALLY left out. Most girls started around nine/ten so you%26#039;re not too much older than they are. Dance now or you%26#039;ll regret it later!

Another idea is diving. (Springboard, not scuba.) I started this year (also a gymnast, but have back and ankle injuries which interfere with gymnastics) and it%26#039;s really great. It involves all the flips and twists of gymnastics and none of the hard landings. It%26#039;s a lot less rigorous than gymnastics, and it%26#039;s such a thrill when you learn a new dive. =] Seriously - look into it!

Other ideas: Yoga, pilates, rhythmic gymnastics, swimming, track, cross country
